About Us
Background
Jobhunters was founded in 2005 and has been proactive in finding Kiwis jobs and Employers staff since then. After the initial success of the site in New Zealand additional sites around the world were implemented.
Founder - Rob StGeorge
Rob had the idea to turn the classic job site concept around, his favourite phrase at the time was to "Let the hunter become the hunted".
Already employed full time for a software company Rob set up the site over a few months and then would email people looking for work and offer jobseekers the opportunity to register for free on the jobhunters website.
Driven by the idea that by helping others he could create a useful website Rob continued to add to the site over the next few years and still spends a great deal of time checking that candidates are not getting spammed, approving candidates registrations and ensuring the site is kept up to date.
In the early days once an employer was registered the contact system was not checked and so candidates would end up with a lot of spam from network marketers and get rich quick schemes however now every response to a candidate is carefully checked by the Jobhunters team before being sent on. This was a key addition to the site, and meant that although the site is largely automated, there is still a human element keeping an eye on things and thus removing the spam problem altogether.
Administration Manager - Patricia Reps
When Rob became so busy with his website business's that the paperwork and organization started to become a little chaotic he looked to finding someone to assist. That's when Patricia joined the jobhunters team and sorted out the office in her efficient and calm manner.
Quickly becoming a critical part of the operation Patricia enjoys the satisfaction that comes from helping people find a new career or job.
